When you have scheduled a PADS presentation then PADS will automatically take care of the distribution of your scheduled presentation and everything that’s related to it to your connected PADS Viewers.
Schedule information
The entire schedule information for your PADS Viewers is forwarded to these Viewers and locally stored as soon as possible. Afterwards only updates to the schedule information are communicated. This not only ensures a minimum amount of network traffic, but also guarantees that the Viewer can continue to operate in case of a network failure.
Content files
All content files (videos, pictures, etc.) that you use in your PADS presentation are distributed separately from the schedule information. For this a unique synchronization mechanism has been developed, which automatically distributes the content files to the PADS Viewers. Many built-in options make that you can configure this process exactly the way you like. You can determine yourself the maximum amount of bandwidth and the period of the day during which synchronization is allowed. You can even arrange targeted distribution of content to selected groups of PADS Viewers.
When you have a large installation with multiple PADS Viewers per location you can use replicated PADS servers which will operate as a kind of proxy server. With their store and forward function they help you to further minimize your network traffic.
Of course when you use the same content files in multiple presentations they will be distributed only once and reused from the local cache of your PADS Viewer PCs.
Real-time data
If your PADS presentation includes real-time data then you have two options to collect and distribute this real-time data to all connected PADS Viewers: Let each PADS Viewer retrieve its own real-time data or let the central PADS Data Server collect and distribute this information.
If you have many PADS Viewers all using the same real-time data you can significantly reduce your network load by using the PADS Data Server.
