For a complete PADS configuration you need:
- A Server PC
- Manager/Designer/Agent PCs (optional)
- Displays with built-in or attached Viewer PC
- A network infrastructure
PADS Server PC
PADS Server is the pivot of your system. The requirements for the PADS Server PC are dependent on the size and usage of your installation. For large, mission critical systems we recommend to use clustering technology with RAID facilities.
PADS Manager/Designer/Agent PC
The PADS Manager, Designer and Agent application can run either on the PADS Server PC or on a separate Desktop PC. To get a good impression how your designed presentations will perform we recommend you to use a configuration for PADS Designer that is comparable with that of your PADS Viewers.
PADS Viewers PC
Especially for PADS Viewer it is important that you use the right hardware to get the best performance. In particular the choice of the video card plays a crucial role.
When you plan to playback 'heavy' content we recommend you to use the following configuration for your PADS Viewer PC:

The minimum requirements for PADS Viewer and recommended requirements for 'light' content are of course significantly lower.
Video card
We advise you to choose a video card that is tier-2 compliant, has a good GPU (Graphical Processing Unit) and at least 256 MB of video memory available.
Operating system
As operating system for the PADS Viewer PC we recommend Windows 7. This operating system takes full advantage of the capabilities of your video card, resulting into a significantly better performance. As an alternative you can use Windows Vista, Windows XP or Windows XP Embedded.
Network
All PADS components must be able to communicate with the PADS Server PC through a local network or Internet connection.
