With the zone viewer element of PADS you can give users access to a part of a screen, in other words a ‘zone’. For this part these users will be free to independently design and schedule PADS presentations.
The zone viewer element turns an area on a page of your PADS presentation into a separate PADS Viewer. This PADS Viewer will act like a regular viewer. It means that the zone viewer will appear as a separate destination in the PADS Manager application and you can separately design and schedule presentations for it. With the security settings of PADS Manager you can make that certain users only get access to this specific zone, without having access to the rest of the system.
In this way you can for instance assign dedicated zones to departments of your organization, enabling them to manage their own content. However as user with full permissions you decide yourself in the main presentation where and when it is permitted for the zone to be visible.
For a zone viewer you don’t have to buy a separate PADS Viewer license, as long as the zone viewer is connected to the same PADS Server as the other PADS Viewers. When you have a replicated PADS system and you use the zone viewer to locally modify content then a separate PADS Viewer license is required.
